Global Launch Of The Made In Africa Awards Movement
June 10, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Toronto, June 5th, 2017 – In celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the African Image Revolution, MACPRI, will present the first ever Made in Africa Art for Awards and Trophies showcase, on Saturday June 10th, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM. The private showcase will take place at an undisclosed location in the city of Brampton. You can request an invitation to the private launch by email at firstname.lastname@example.org until June 9th. A public showcase is scheduled for downtown Toronto early fall.
The Made in Africa Art for Awards showcase appeals to organizations, businesses and individuals which regularly or periodically give awards and group gifts recognizing achievement and to say ‘Thank you’. MACPRI is presently exploring partnerships with innovative ‘grass-roots’ entrepreneurs to take Made in Africa Awards global by the end of 2017. We are also seeking investors for our next shipment from Ghana.
The Made in Africa Art for Awards movement is conceived by MACPRI’s Chief, Adisa S. Oji, aka Brother Oji, who’s innovations continue to make reconnections to Africa in creative and tangible ways without even having to travel to Africa itself.
According to Oji, “If all our major organizations serving the African-Canadian and Caribbean communities, which put on annual awards ceremonies, shift from purchasing and presenting China Made Awards to purchasing and presenting authentic hand crafted Made in Africa Art for Awards pieces, what world of difference we can make in so many spheres”.
Our slogan is: ‘Why not consider giving Made in Africa Art for Awards’ as a way to support Africa’s development and encourage cultural pride and self-esteem among award recipients.
The first Made in Africa Awards showcase will feature a unique selection of authentic African hand carved wooden art pieces masterfully finished.
Patrons will be able to purchase individual pieces in the showcase and place quantity orders for MACPRI’s next shipment direct from Accra, Ghana to Toronto, Canada.
